Judging by all these questions your asking that have simple answers, you should really go and try to actually learn the language first. You can't code a game by not coding anything. I can tell you did absolutely no research or anything to even know that basics of the language because if you did, you would know that those things on the screen aren't just "icons", they are atoms. Each icon is the representation of an atom, which has code to it. Therefor, icons cannot teleport you, but atoms can. Most likely you would use a turf to teleport. And don't give use that "im only 13" crap, I started programming at 8, and Im 16 now. I actually started BYOND when I was 13(or 14 but I think it was 13) and I didn't go to the forums and expect to have everybody else make my games.

#1) im not 13 My mistake, that was TK6000. #2) i dont want u to make my game Then read some documention on BYOND and the very basics of byond, like what an atom is, before coming and asking questions that would be very simple for you to figure out on your own if you only knew what a turf was and what the Enter() proc does. |

Ebonshadow wrote: hehehe good call. He probably would have just pasted it in and then replied with all the errors he got(if he got any anyways) and then would have went on "coding" the rest of game without ever knowing how your code worked. |

Ebonshadow has a point here that's worth repeating: An "icon" is just the graphics for something, but what you're really talking about is a turf. Keeping the terminology straight does matter. There's another point worth repeating, and that's that this question is answered in FAQs. You should definitely read those over, since you'll find an answer (or at least, most of an answer) there. i have read the FAQ... and i have observed 'Spuzzums' answer on how to transport your character from one map to another during gameplay... but i do not understand it. please... if you have something usefull to tell me... then please do... but no useless corrections please ... i just want answers. (and have a nice day!) :)

What don't you understand, specifically? I can clarify it if you'd like. That is in my capability. please... if you have something usefull to tell me... then please do... but no useless corrections please ... i just want answers. (and have a nice day!) :) Well, by saying that you only encourage me to say something about it. Ready? If you go into school and the working world with that attitude, you'll be sorely disappointed. A school example: in a written problem, just having the answer right doesn't grant the full marks. Now apply that statement to BYOND, substituting "answer" with "code", and "the full marks" with "a good game". |
