Just got back from a week of roughing it and having a great time. Spent the first three days rafting the Middle Fork American river. That was cool, but I thought the class fours were a little bit too easy. In fact on some of the more boring stretches of river, for example, the class twos, I would just jump out of the boat and swim down the rapid. We had a really awesome guide so she was cool with that. Anyways, on the third day we left in the afternoon and drove to Lake Folsom. The fishing there sucked, and I caught nothing, but besides that it was pretty cool there. The next morning as we were preparing to leave, two officers showed up and searched our car. Turns out they were there because of a freaking BB gun I had out earlier and all I did was shoot the ground because that's the only safe way to get rid of a BB that you already loaded and cocked. Even though all I did was shoot the ground, the point is you're not even allowed to have something like that in a state park, much less discharge it. I had to do a lot of lying and sorry-face-making to get out of that one. If I hadn't, it would have been a misdemeanor and I would have to show up at court and possibly serve up to six months in a juvenile detention center. I got the BB gun back when we left for Lake Isabella a few hours later. Now this place was awesome. The fishing was amazing. I caught countless loads of bluegill and a decent catfish (channel cat). The only thing that dissapointed me was that I didn't catch any bass. I tried everything. I fished all the right spots and even hooked a live bluegill I caught and used it as bass bait, but to no avail. I also got on a jetski for my first time, and goddamn that was fun! We stayed at lake Isabella for two days. On the second day of our stay we left in the afternoon on the road back home. The cool thing was, we got lost and found ourselves in the midst of the giant sequoias. Eventually, we found our way back home of course, and now here I am writing this. Uhh... Well..
