Pixiebobs are a cross between bobcats and a housecat. Can't remember which housecat. Anyway, they're wonderful pets. They don't shed much, at least, the shorthairs don't, they are friendly, and, they're playful.

However, they're about $800 with spay.

My cat looks rather similar, this is an older picture so the stripes arent as prodominate as the cat on the picture posted.
Wow, nice cat. Mine won't sit on his stand, even if there's tuna on it.
The amount of hair they shed also depends on their diet.

My cat is big enough and has the right build, but a totally different fur pattern.
All testing indicates these are not hybrids of bobcats, which would be classified as wild and/or dangerous animals in most states. Bobcats are also infertile with domestic housecats.

On that note, there was a news article on a few months back talking about pet owners who had bought actually bobcats or lynx thinking them to be this breed or ocicats! Needless to say, such cats get highly aggressive and are very dangerous as they grow. They had attacked other pets and owners and had to be destroyed.
Yipes. O.O

Also, even though tests say they aren't related, doesn't mean they are. Science screws up. Another thing that might've happened is that the government is breeding animals to make a war animal, and are just trying to cover their tracks by saying the tests didn't show they were related. However, I see no way that something so much like a bobcat isn't a bobcat in any way, shape, or form.
