Redundant
Applies to:Website
Status: Redundant

This feature has already been implemented, or is already achievable with existing methods.
Rating games :
Clicking fan+ dosnt really help the developers that much , we should see what does the community give for our games
Ex: 10/10 space station 13
1/10 bad game

Selling games :
Will help developers and BYOND ! For example :
TLC only for 5$
BYOND gets 50% from every 5$ and the developers gets the rest of 50% :P
P.S : fan games and games who dosnt have much votes can't be for money also a BYOND admin should review the game to make sure it is not a scam

In development status / cancelled :
Developers of a game could put a status on there hub saying if the game is in development and how much % it is done
Ex : half life 3 [60% done]
Five nights at freddys's 3 [cancelled]

Ads on webcilent :
MORE MONEY FOR BYOND! (Could be removed by BYOND memberships of course :P)

Demos :
If the selling games idea worked but still people wants to play there could be a 2nd command called download demo and the game's developers will upload it if they want to upload a demo for there games

Editing forums :
Adding more forums for games , change ing. Style , etc

Adding twiter and Facebook post :
Would be awesome

News and announce + changelog :
Like at steam and other game sites , there will be news and announces tab and a changelog so players will be up to date for there favorite games :P
(This is all opinion I am no one of high importance just a very old member of BYOND)

As for the rating system; as much as this is a cool feature and allows not only the developers to see their game's rating but also the players, this isn't a necessity really so I don't see the BYOND staff adding it in. I know from past posts that they aren't looking to make this site a place for promotion of games, they are keeping it very basic.

EDIT: If you really want a rating.. tell your players to write reviews.

Selling games -
You can already sell your game. Sell the source, sell the host files what ever you want you have that right as long as it is your own creation. As for in game stuff there are already ways of dealing with that. As for admin's reviewing, the community has been changed to open publishing with smaller admin interference.

Game Status -
I don't think I completely understand this one. Simply state what state your development is in on the game itself or on the HUB you create.

The Webclient isn't even finished.

Demos -
Simply put your demo in the download link and say that its a demo.

Forums -
The forum is just for basic communication really. Adding twitter and facebook posts? As in like a live feed of the BYOND's staff progress, I don't even think they have a twitter and stuff, I could be wrong. If you mean like a button to post a BYOND post onto a social media.. you can always just copy and paste the url.

New/Changelog -
Is that not what the Game Updates section of the forums is?

Comments is unlike rating
Also it could be useful for putting our games on the popular list at the top

Nope , i mean a button says buy game and as i said fan games or stolen games can't. Be sold cuz a admin must review it
And adding down the buy game button download demo , that's it..

The about section is not more the game is done or no..
Simply a bar will be shown says it is done or no and if no developers could update the bar from 1% to 99% , ya people understand more now?

We will need more than general , bugs reports and fut.req in our games forums..

I mean for our games xd and yeah BYOND should add it for themselves too

New/Changelog -
Is that not what the Game Updates section of the forums is?

That shares the games news to BYOND
It will be a section on the HUB so everyone who is 1+ for a game can be up to date for what's going on
Rating-
A review gives the reader a report on the writer's opinion/suggestions for the game. That gives more information than some number. What would having number values provide to the popular category that the Fan system doesn't already do?
Higher number = Higher Popularity
Higher Fans = High Popularity
(The same thing)

Game Sales -
I think you missed the subscription option. As for stolen games there isn't really a way to tell if you are the actual owner unless you have solid proof and even if you do it isn't like an admin could delete the files from them. They could simply create another HUB, host it without a HUB, or even just take it to another site. Responsibility of your games source falls upon the creator not the BYOND staff.

Game Status-
I still do not understand what you are asking about game status. What prevents the owner of the HUB from putting "[WIP]" or "In Development" in the title or even just on the HUB page itself. As for a bar, how would this bar possibly keep track of the progress of the game. Someone would have to manually change the value and at that point you could just make a bar in paint or something and just change it as you make progress.

Forums -
You have to know that Tom isn't looking into making this site the go to place. I won't speak for him but based on his posts I will say that he is focused on the software not the site. He wants a program that allows anyone to pick up and try and create their own game. A comparison would be... think of JavaScript or C++.. when a person makes a game with those code languages do they post on those websites? No, they go to gaming websites and promote there. That is what Tom seems to want; is for people to expand their work else where not only on BYOND's forum.

Facebook thing-
So what you mean is why can't the software work like Facebook games? Well the webclient will bring that a little closer to reality.

News/Changelogs -
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe if you fan a game and that game posts an update you receive a message about the post. The Game Updates section of the forum is just a collection of posts made in the game's Discussion section.
One feature request at a time, please at least follow protocols. I can tell you already, ads were planned as a part of the web client, but there were some issues loading them, so they put that on the backburner. Ratings aren't coming back after the abuse last time we had them. It's up to you to sell your games, there are already options enough provided by BYOND to sell playability to your game. You can never really judge the % in which your game is done. We already have the ability to offer demos.
Please make separate requests in the future, instead of lumping seven or eight into one request. This makes the process of handling feature requests more difficult than it needs to be (such as clarifying which ones are feasible, have been added, and merging duplicates—which several of your requests happen to be).

--

Most of the features you've asked for are fairly redundant and would only add unneeded complexity to the website (which Tom and Lummox JR have made it clear they wish to put on the back-burner, so I can't see any of them ever being implemented).
