I've seen 2 members that "accomplished" it. Well, none of them work. What's the big fuss? I am sure it's just something of finding the right input.
Sincerely I've been trying Game Maker and I didn't like it. I still like this platform better, it's more open and stuff... The only prob I find here is the gamepad support.
When and how can we contribute?

Gamepads can be used in a single-player instance. Third-party software is available to enable you to use a gamepad. Lastly, use the webclient to trigger gamepads.

Technically I think the program xpad could satisfy your needs for game pad support
