For the past couple days, we've been working on how player built towns would work in Progeny. Along with giving incentives for growth (dungeon control, limited resources, territory outposts, area control and security ect.) We wanted it to be relatively easy to grow a town.
We implemented a system where officers of towns could click on an NPC and direct it to positions inside the town's area. NPC's appear as a town grows, so there is more incentive to concentrate on one town.
With that we designed a combination system, which allowed for easy manufacturing of materials needed to build the town.

Sounds nice. Can't wait to see it in action though.

Yeah, we think it'll work out well.
You can buy gaurds for your town that'll attack specified people on site, and defend against raids while you're not online. This way, if a race drives deep into another race's territory, it won't be a five minute victory, it shapes the game. Allowing for large scale tactical war. Officers can also administer your town while you're away. If you sight any problems or potential design flaws, we always appreciate advise. Oh and we'll be posting special screenshots inside the guild, be sure to join! |
Dude, I know I posted but tactical warfare sounds totally awesome....when you can how about some screen's?
