changing view size

Is there a way to change the view size? i know you can, but i want it so when you log in, a list pops up with resolutions in it ("640x480","800x600",etc.) and the user picks thier resolution. Then, it would make the view size bigger if they are running in a bigger resolution. I've tried (quite a feeble attempt) and it said "cannot change constant value". Is there any way to do this?

I don't think world.view can be changed, but client.view should be settable.
