Licencing for stand alone game

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to find out information regarding licencing for a standalone Space Station 13 game.

I understand several source codes have been released under GPL, however this is a standalone game so these source releases will not be used.

I'm wondering if BYOND has any implied licencing for gamemodes released on it's platform or is SS13 has any intellectual rights or licencing for the game concept at all.

I think it'd only be fair to release it under GPL, or whatever goon used as it was released.

That is a loaded question - will it be free? Will it be pay to play? Will it have a store? If you stand to make any money off of it, then you'll have to jump through some hoops regarding licensing. Your best bet is to speak with a lawyer regarding this.
