Room for a newbie??

Makes me happy to see so much support for a newbie. I got the same thing when I first appreared here, but it was gone for awhile back there... all newbies, be they Lummox or JonSnow, were flamed from the start. Best of luck to you, TymeHawk.

I don't recall being flamed. Not everyone is, thank goodness. It's wrong to flame a newbie just for being new, after all.

I was never flamed, though I did lose a lot of self-esteem as a human due to Lexy.

Exactly. TymeHawk, nobody WANTS to flame you. All you have to do is admit to what you did. It'll make your BYOND Career better. It's not cool to take other's work and claim it as your own.

Lol, lexy can be a bit...rude...I dont recall being flamed, although people did seem to think some of my questions were oviose(spelling?) and dumb. Plus my spelling was never great, than i got a spell checker for IE, it helps.

I would admit to it if i actually did it, but i didn't so sry i can't admit to it. The code that i used i found in a different demo (which i will try to find the demo that i got it from) and that code also had used the X var so i just stuck with it. y change it? so i am sry if sariat was the person who had originally created that piece of code but the fact remains... i did not copy the explosion demo by sariat. but i am sry it caused so much stuff to happen and to be said.

The really funny thing is that all people said about it was that it was "pretty good for a newbie". If you really think it's yours, then that must say something about it's quality. :-P

How many times do i have to tell u i didn't copy it from sariat's demo. once again i am sry that it ended up this way but i think that we should just forget about it cause my demo (or sariat's whatever u want to say) provides a more in depth way to use explosions... to explain myself, well his demo just shows how to blow yourself up my demo shows how to actually use bombs so that after u drop it u can get out of the blast radius... and it has a bomb count which yes is basic but it can show other newbies how to make a count for a certain amount of an object. once again i am sry about it all but i am just going to leave it on byond because i think it has some important info, but i also don't care if u feel like calling it someone else's demo... whatever i just am sick of getting told i copied sariat's cause i didn't!

Wow. You made a verb to an object that calls the proc. I bet it was in no way like I made the mob verb that calls the proc.

I'm closing this thread because all the debating isn't leading anywhere. If it's a completely new demo, good. If it's a modification of existing code, it's best to get the original author's consent before releasing a version as one's own creation.
