What numbers equal NORTH, SOUTH, etc in directions?

1,2,4,8
NORTH,SOUTH,EAST,WEST
I believe intermediates are the additoion of the 2 like 5 for NE.

Correct. You can find these constants in lib\stddef.dm, and they also include UP (16) and DOWN (32).
