Looking back at old arguments from those forums is awesome.

Just out of interest Jare, how much money did you end up making from that venture? I still don't get how people couldn't understand the idea that they weren't paying for ten cents they were paying for a BYOND dime (which could be used in situations where US currency could not).
The funny part about all this is at the rate Silk's games seemed to rake in dimes he probably could have made a tidy sum selling his dimes through Jare, waiting for them to come back via his games and then repeating as many times as possible. (Don't worry, I'm not suggesting you two did anything like that. If I remember right Silk's games were setup to use PayPal as soon as it was possible). |
haha! Good call. Actually, to be perfectly honest with you- I would have been more than happy to run that scheme! If people are willing to pay for it, then why not?
I'm really just dying for them to implement an automated BYOND merchant system again. I can't believe that it's been 3 years or so without it. |
I remember sifting through the hub and seeing fangame icon packs and sources up for sale. I think I recall one such pack trying to go for 150 dimes or so? That was mind-boggling to me.
Then there was the final death throes of the Byond hub hosting, before Members were added. People started to make hub entries to host pirated Gameboy Advance roms. It is hard to believe it's been a few years since then. Wow, what have I been doing all of this time? |
I still have 15 BYONDimes left...I can't get rid of these last few. I wasted about 100 just as they were being phased out to get rid of them all.

Just out of interest Jare, how much money did you end up making from that venture? Like 20 dollars of profit. Mystic Journey hadn't switched to Paypal yet, so I sold to their players. |
