Attacking monsters

I want to make my battle system like the one in Slime Journey but i can't figure it out. All I can get it is walk up to the monster and click attack lots of times under the command option.

Uh.. well I never played slime journey. But my suggestion is to check out some tutorials and make one yourself ^_^, probobly will come out better. But just for the sake of knowing, how does slime jounrey battle system work?

You will probably almost completely redo yuor game after you read it. If you give me your code for attacking I could help you with it. (wow it feels great to be on the helping side of a question)

i'm using kunarks rpg tutorial now for attacking because i don't know any other way to attack.
To anwser your question SSchicken, Slime Journeys battle system has you walk into the monster. then a window wil will appear with three buttons. one says commence battle, another says defend, the last one says run away. if you click commence battle you get another window with three more buttons. Attack, spell/skills, and items. should i ask the guy who made slime journey for his code.
