Writing Names

How would you go about making something where the person's name shows up at a cetrain location(in the HUD), and stretches as far as it needs to so the whole key is shown?

Oh! I know this, it's in a source code I have. Unfortunatly, I am at my dad's without the source. (I like being at my dad's, I don't like not having source) If no one helps you before Monday, remind me on AIM =)
