wat is Pwipe?

i heard alot about it but dunno wt it is? any1 knows?

A "PWipe" is when the game creator deleteds all the players savefiles. Either because the savfiles were corrupted, would become corrupted with a new update, or the game creator is just unusally mean.

Most often a game author does a pwipe (deleting savefiles) because they've created a new version and the old savefiles are incompatible with it. It's a bit inexcusable, as they ought to design savefiles to be future-proof and upgradeable in the first place.

Sometimes you can't always tell if the save file will need adjustment.

But you can build your savefiles to be backwards compatible by adding version information and have the game automatically convert old data into a newer format.
