Hey I'm not sure if anybody has had a problem with hosting games... but for some reason I can start my own game that I've downloaded.. but I can't host it to the public.. or anybody for that fact.. just myself. I was wondering if anybody knew any way that I might fix this? It's kinda annoying.. I just wanna share my internet connection mixed with this awesome game with the rest of BYOND.. but for some reason I can't host a game. So if anybody knows how to fix this little problem I'm having, please let me know. You can either place it here, or you can E-mail me at [email protected]. Thank you.

If you have a firewall or a router, its most likely the problem, from what I've read on these forums.

You need to enable port forwarding on the router for the port(s) that you're hosting on. My D-Link router calls it "Virtual Server". You may want to look at the manual for your router (if you've lost it, find your router's model number and do a Google search on it).
Are you pressing the 'Host' button?

That's what happened with me.... Honest. ¬_¬

If your router is new, this may be a problem. I have a router and it came standard with a firewall, unable to stop unless I cancel my internet connection, which isn't what you would want to do if you are trying to host an online game.
