Problem with resources

The resources for my game take too long to download, is there any way to shorten downloading time.

Reduce the number of bitmaps you have as much as possible, make your map as small as possible...erm...that's all I can think of immediately. How big is your game?

"pretty big" isn't very helpful. Pretty big could be anything from 2MB to 200GB depending on the person using the phrase, and their computer, and their internet connection. How hard could it be for you to just tell us?
