I know for a fact that I can't host games on BYOND, and I also know for a fact that I'm behind a router, and probably a firewall built in. I know we don't have a software firewall. Anyways, I want some ways I can enable game hosting. at my house we have a local intranet of three computers, our "masked" IPs are 192.168.0.***, but I do know my router IP. would that help? I also can't connect directly to the internet, because it will interfere with my mom's work.

If you can connect directly to the internet for a quick 5 minutes, you can plug on, wait for the connection to be found they type ipconfig(w2k or higher). This will tell you what your internet IP is. After this hook back up the router. Also, you will need to make sure that your router is not blocking the Port you want to use during your hosting. Post this IP and Port with your game and you can use the Daemon to host on the internet (I have done this myself and know it works this way)

Naw, my parents would never let me "expose" my actual IP, or open a port on the router. They don't think the BYOND community is safe. (They're real paranoid about viruses and stuff like that...)

He asked how it could be done, all I did was give the info. When I did it, it was for a short test. I used an obsure port number, and gave my IP to a friend over the phone to test. I closed the port when I was done. I agree, too many jack@sses out there wanting to reck your stuff.
