My firewall has been blocking me from hosting any games. Even when i completely open it so it has no filtering and i turn it off, it still blocks. Is there something that i'm doing wrong? I have McAfee Personal Firewall Plus if that helps, and my ports are in stealth mode. If you could, help me out with getting the ports out of stealth so that other computers can locate them. Thanks.

open the firewill control
now from the menu click options then click on the system services tab click Add Program name: Byond Incoming tcp/ip ports: 5001 (change this) Outgoing tcp/ip ports: 5001 (change this but make it match the top one) then click OK now when you next host set the port to use as 5001 (what ever port u set) this should allow you to host if not then follow the thing below Click on the Internet Applications tab scroll down and find dreamseeker and right click on it now the popup menu will apper click on Allow full access. |
Did you try port forwarding? (/shrug)
You have..maybe..two choices..
1.) Completely Disable the firewall (McAfee is one of those that don't give up, they HAVE to protect your firewall, so I wouldn't be surprised if you find some leftover tasks for McAfee's firewall in Task Manager)
2.) You can just not host at all

Do you have a router that might have a hardware firewall?
