ok..im making a Lufia game. and in the lufia games, you get things called capsule monsters. its nothing like pokemon or anything..FAR FAR from it.
i am needing something to create a "pet" like mob to follow my character around. it will attack when the player is attacked, share exp with it's owner, equip weapons and armor and will also be able to change it's icon at different levels. i'm going to have a "capsule" tab created so that if a person likes a particular "form" of the monster, they can choose to make their monster that one.
i know it sounds a tiny bit mystic journey-ish..but im doing some substitutes because i think it would take waaay too much coding than what i -think- i know to do it the Lufia way, though i am verry sure that if i put my mind to it..i could do it the lufia way.
is anyone here femiliar with pet coding?
any info you would need about the kinds of verbs i am wanting, just ask..but heres some of the main verbs i want :
Capsule_Heal - would be in the "magic" tab and would work like a heal spell, but only for the players capsule.
Capsule_Equip/Capsule_Unequip - allows the un/equipping of a sword, sheild and armor.
Capsule_Stay - commands the Capsule monster to tay in it's current location.
Capsule_Summon - will be learned as a magic spell for the player. used to summon the player's capsule to the players current location.
i've decided not to go with turnbased combat system because i think it'd be kinda hard to get the pet into the battle screen, like used in Ghaleon's demo.
im not really sure what else to say. so if theres anything you need to know, just ask.
