It's a game, but it's terribly put together.

Merriam-Webster defines game as "a physical or mental activity or contest that has rules and that people do for pleasure".

If I search video game, the definition is "an electronic game in which players control images on a television or computer screen".

I agree with these. Makes just about everything a game though.
