Too hard to use. GIMP has such a better interface.

I don't think it's so much that photoshops UI sucks, just that you don't know how to use it.
|
I agree with you Wild. And I don't agree with Airjoe. GIMP has a better UI from my experience...
|
I used GIMP while I had Linux, and it just was not as powerful as photoshop. I haven't used GIMP on windows in a while, but last time I checked, the UI absolutely sucked.
Really though, once you learn how to use photoshop, it's amazing. |
I tried out Gimp for a while and I LOATHED the scattered "every window has its own taskbar button" set up. It drove me nuts if I wanted to tab through and do other things at the same time.
Install GIMPshop instead. That exchanged an annoying problem for a frustrating one. I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del it whenever I wanted to shut the window. :( |

However, photoshop is definitely more powerful. Gimps UI takes some getting used to as well. To tell the truth I've only had photoshop for a day. P.S. the screenshot was mostly a joke except for the serious sounding parts. |
Hmm, you should know that alot of profession artists and effects artists use gimp. its ALOT powerful then photeshop if you know how to use script fuu.
before you say its more powerful you should learn how to use it. go earn on the web. GIMP = for artists Photeshop = for kids making naruto sigs. linux ftw ! |
I tried out Gimp for a while and I LOATHED the scattered "every window has its own taskbar button" set up. It drove me nuts if I wanted to tab through and do other things at the same time. It does take some getting used to. However, sometimes I want to look at a picture and try to draw it, so I can't keep closing and opening windows, making GIMP's err... windowness very convenient. Also for tutorials. |
Its also 1000% faster then photeshop.
when using gimp you can listen to music and explore the web with photeshop you cant do nothing because it takes 100% cpu and Pf. so forget listen to the music if you dont want to lose your work every 5 mins. |
Masking-and layer options, effects. You can close the color pallete-Also, if you learned what they'd be are for, you'd see why PS costs so much. ;)
(Masking is a major Digital Photo editing tool used very often-Though the more pro you are, the better the outcome) Edit: Airjoe: Rizendamos: Your computer sucks. Thursday, August 10, 2006 02:28PM That and..PhotoShop has way more features then GIMP, so it's faster because it has less-win situation? Depends on what you're using it for. |
Photoshop pwns GIMP.
GIMP is amateur freeware, photoshop is professional more advanced software. Like many programs, you MUST learn the interface to use it effectively, you can't learn all the useful stuff of photoshop in a day. |
BigBoiD:
Or you can get Jasc Paint Shop Pro >_> Thursday, August 10, 2006 06:09PM Jasc Paint Shop Pro(which comes with my PS CD) totally sucks in my opinion. |
