*Important question About Joining games*

Detailed Problem Description:
I have a game and every time someone tries to join it, it says connection failed. When i hit download it goes through ok, but when others try it fails. Why?


Does the problem occur:
Every time? Or how often?

On other computers?

In other user accounts?

The download link works fine, the 'connect' link fails, the purpose of the connect link is to allow connections to a dedicated server running the game, which doesn't appear to be the case.

everytime when someone hits download it says connection failed or when i am hosting a game and they try to join it fails

The Download link works fine. Are you behind a router?

i have wondered this for a while what is a router is it a thing that people use with dsl

If you share an internet connection with more than one computer (A common set-up with DSL and Cable), then it must first be passed through a router. They tend to come with built-in firewalls, which could (and almost always do) stop people from hosting.
If you don't know if you have one, look for a little box with one cable going in (from the modem) and a bunch of cables going out (to each computer on the network). If you do have a router, get it's model and goto the new Byond hosting page at:
