So I went to the boot today, first to leighcott (I think I've spelt that right..) then to Dauntsey my usual stop. I ended up getting a few more books and a ZIP drive (I always fancied one just to have around) at Dauntsey, fair enough thats fine, but this first trip to leighcott I spotted an external CD RW drive for £20. Openned it up, its all there, I'm thinking "Hey, this isn't bad, but I dunno". Then comes in my brother in law, who knows next to nothing about computers and says its a bargain and I should buy it. Guess what I did. Yeah, I bought it. DUMBASS DUMBASS DUMBASS.
So I got home eventually and tried it, it runs normal CD's off the drive fine, stick a blank one in though and it spasms out of control like I don't know what. So that was a waste of £20.
The second thing is my bookmarks on firefox are gone. GAHHHHH. Now I don't know about anyone else but I heavily rely on bookmarks, even though it does end up getting cluttered with stuff I don't use, but I like to have them there in case I want to go back or just mill around. So yeah, thats a pain in the arse too.
Edit: Turns out my CD RW drive on my laptop does work after all. I got owned. Guess it doesn't like some disks.

Check for them in your profile. Go to C:/Docs and Settings/[your name]/App Data/mozilla/firefox/[random folder name followed by the word default]/ and look for bookmarks.html. This should be all of your bookmarks. Oh yeah, the folder names are shortened due to lazyness.

Whenever I get a new install of firefox it wipes my bookmarks. You can export and save backups but I never do. It's always pretty devestating. :(

I know it doesn't mean much now, since they're already gone, but you can save your bookmark lists in the Manage Bookmark option.
