Displaying text made of sprites.....

How would I go about doing this? I'm wondering how to make text appear letter by letter in a box(outside of byond's built in alert verb) them all being sprites. Any help on how I can do this?

yes, that was partly what i was looking for :) i might use this instead. But what i was mainly looking for is having a box in the lower portion of the screen pop up and do the same thing for dialog and stuff, like in Legend of Zelda. Thanks for the help so far :P

Ohh...I see. I would try to make it an overlay. Like a HUD. But I dont know how to make a HUD.
