I'm in a local elementary school, and whoever said Katrina is over, it's not. The destruction is terrible and pretty much everyone is living in a FEMA trailer. It's a really sad sight. Everyone here is nice as can be though. Some people at a black baptist church made me cornbread and beef barbeque, even though I'm white. It made me really happy. I'm in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi right now. It's over a hundred degrees and humid, and the bugs suck. Oh, well. Back to work. I'll be home Monday.

Ssshhhh! Don't talk about Katrina and how little is really being done to clean up and rebuild. Then people might remember how little preparation was done in the first place!

Yeah, they should have picked up their houses and left. It's irresponsible to leave your house in a place where you know a hurricane is going to hit. People can be so stupid, you know?
(nothing could have stopped houses from being destroyed) |
Sage, some of the people did try to leave, so many infact the highways were backed up for miles, some people did stay, but where were some of them to go? Not everyone has a place they can go to. Not everyone has family out of state or money to finance leaving in anyway.
