In a recent thread, someone asked how to set the viewpoint to some other mob; I told him to set the client.eye to the mob. Apparently, in [link], he says it works, but when the selected mob goes off of his screen, his screen goes black.

I want to say this is due to resources needing to be downloaded, but I'm not entirely sure (for a multitude of reasons, including the fact that I have neither used BYOND much lately, nor have I been tracking its development). From what I recall of past functionality, alternative client.eye settings worked even when the new value for eye left the old one's view, so I'd assume it should still operate properly.

Anyways, could someone look into this and see what's up for me? My guess is that resource-downloading is to blame, but it's possible I'm mistaken. If you could post your response to that user, that'd be very helpful.

Thanks,
Hiead
The client's perspective needs to be set to EYE_PERSPECTIVE

Oh, right. Thanks, though I would've preferred it if you had responded to the user directly...would've saved my lazy self the trouble! :P
