Did "they" (dan or tom?) ever add the feature to output text on the map portion of the dreamseeker window?

Yes. The feature is being able to code that. :)

might as well be asking for a basic windows feature to be included into a basic game creation tool...

yeah, not really what i was looking for
im talking about printing window fonts to the screen buffer kinda like byond did about 5 or 6 years ago... |
The only thing I can think of that'd have been on BYOND five or six years ago would've been text mode, and that's not just printing text to the map, but actually making the entire map text.

Some like to have a purely textual game (like Crispy's Your Money or Your Life), and Linux and Mac can't display icons. At least, they couldn't in <4.0 versions.
