Did "they" (dan or tom?) ever add the feature to output text on the map portion of the dreamseeker window?
Yes. The feature is being able to code that. :)

might as well be asking for a basic windows feature to be included into a basic game creation tool...

Searching is the key to life if you were on an island and didn't search for food you would be dead.

If your one BYOND and don't search for what you are looking for you get flamed and you won't get answered.

yeah, not really what i was looking for

im talking about printing window fonts to the screen buffer

kinda like byond did about 5 or 6 years ago...

The only thing I can think of that'd have been on BYOND five or six years ago would've been text mode, and that's not just printing text to the map, but actually making the entire map text.

so why do people even make their map text since all people can display it in the regular mode?

Some like to have a purely textual game (like Crispy's Your Money or Your Life), and Linux and Mac can't display icons. At least, they couldn't in <4.0 versions.

but they can now? anyways, i looked up that game, its not bad for text.
i think i might adapt some games ive made to text+icon so people will be able to play in text mode if they so dare wish it.
