I'm not sure how to make a mob's overlays flip or turn when the mob's icon itself gets Flip()ed or turned. When you add an overlay isn't it supposed to make it function as a part of that icon?

What is the memory footprint of an overlay?
And if this has been discussed before I sure as hell didn't find it when I searched. The original question is obsolete anyway now since I already discovered a method to emulate the flip and turn procs, so overlays are now dependent on the base icon. |

No. If used with an icon_state, flick() changes the icon_state of overlays as well, however other than that overlays are independent of the base atom's icon.
