Transparent pictures

I know you can use the transparency on the .DM icons but is it possible to make pictures transparent????

yes use a photoediting program and save them with transparenty
(png is the best bet for the format.)

Thank you, I have photoshop 7,How would I go about doing this? Having no backround and just editing the tranparency?

I did that and it appears it's slightly transparent...but hardly and the transparency is set at 1% but I want it more transparent..hmm
