I'm trying to think of how many BYOND games let you proceed through a structured story. You know the deal: you get a mission; you do the mission; the story is thereby advanced; repeat until the story comes to a conclusion, satisfying or otherwise. A huge number of commercial games work in this fashion, but I'm hard pressed to think of many BYOND games that use this model.
A few that come immediately to mind:
Your Money or Your Life
LerfQuest (or whatever it's called -- A Step BYOND?)
Fenris' Apocalypse (I think)
I'm sure there are others I'm just not thinking of right now, but there are probably still more I just never knew about at all. If you can think of any, please leave 'em in the comments.

http://games.byond.com/hub/VoidEntertainment/ FinalFantasy:TheCrystalElements (The link still works, but I don't know why there is a space in between h and e in The)
Void Entertainment is currently working on a Final Fantasy game that encompasses many features you'd find in the FF console games, as well as a few of our own twists. FF: TCE follows a well-planned out story-line and things are added to that story-line to make things even funner. FF: TCE has 7 base classes to go with our ATB battle system. There are 5 continents all mapped out on a lush 500x500 world map. Then there are even more places, not including the world map. A few things in the non-world maps are things like an Ancient Forest maze-type place with a nice looking temple, a mountain pass, a lava cave, and many other maps. I don't really want to spoil anymore, but with all these things, you can bet there is a nice story-line to go along with this. |
Slurpy Adventure is a game that has a structured narrative, but I haven't worked on that in at least a year and a half.

Fenris' Apocalypse (I think) Yep. Although I had an after-story planned that I never finished, it was made so you have to go to places to progress to other places by doing things like defeating bosses. It was made all the way to the final boss. Since it was my newbie game, though, I ditched it because after 3 or so years, the source code disgusted me and the interface was sooo not cool :P |
Sooooooo....
Is there a specific reason you were thinking of this? Or, just outta the blue? (Just curious) |
TMDI -- I've been thinking about ways to undertake such a game in BYOND and wondered how often it'd been done. Apparently not much!

I have been playing this game for quite a few. It's a Pokemon game that has a story line. http://www.byond.com/games/RareScar/PokemonHighlight
I think it's the only Pokemon game like this. Correct me if I'm wrong. |
Hmm. Team Propaganda is working on an RPG that follows a storyline. Sovereign's story line is still being worked on. You can check the hub for a breif description.
