Hello. I am kinda new to DM and I have seen games like Castle and Wargames that use the drag & drop feature. Can someone explain to me how this is done?

(I am sure most of us have played castle, so if what I said didnt make sense, I meen like how Castle has the panel and how it has like archers, and upgrades, and stuff like that)
