Because your short, "but to the point" code is bad.

I raise my point again, WHATS THE POINT IF IT ISNT BEING USED IN A GAME?

It's an EXAMPLE.

Because somebody might learn bad habits from the example.

How come every time you get involved in a thread you insist on it turning into a huge argument? You posted bad code. Stop posting bad code. There's nothing to discuss here.
In response to Eternal Desire
Because it teaches people bad practicies. My god damn, how bloody thick are you, really? Does nothing get through that mind of yours? The obvious things shouldn't have to be stated, because their obvious. Yet, you instead go the oblivious route and force us to inform you of ever detail that is already so well-known that it just makes everyone else frustrated, especially since these facts have to be repeated over and over again.

Do not help with code. Ever. Again. Don't do it until you are very, very good, and seeing you're refusal to help yourself, I'd say that'll be about twice as long as most people.
Alright, this discussion between Eternal Desire, Popisfizzy, Kaioken, and others has been past silly and gone into ridiculous. This useless bickering is going nowhere, and insulting one another will not solve any problems. The original problem has already been long past solved, yet you guys continue to continue a long-resolved argument.

Eternal Desire: It seems that I have already told this to you many times, but I will repeat it. You need to understand and respect the comments made by other contributors to the forums. They are not saying this just to screw around with you, your code and DM experience is no good in helping others. In other words, you have no place helping others when you do not understand proper programming practice. It is understandable that you want to positively contribute, and it may seem that others are continually nagging you just for the sake of flamebait, but the fact is that you are not in the place to help people at this point. Perhaps later, when you are more experienced in DM, will you understand, but now is not the time. If someone happens to reply to you with flamebait, do not reply. Insulting someone gets you nowhere, and makes it a pain in the ass for moderators to keep the friendly atmosphere of the Developer Forums.

Popisfizzy/Kaioken/Others who are replying to ET's posts: Replying to code problem posts that are unhelpful is find and dandy, but you guys need to understand that you are helping, not insulting or flame baiting. There is no reason to contribute to all of this. If someone happens to reply negatively, you have the option to not press the "Reply" button, post something negative back, and press the "Post" button. Moderation is for the moderators, and backseat moderating does no good.

Honestly, this crap has been too time-consuming for the moderators, and I'm having a low tolerance for any more of this. Anyone who choses to escalate an argument into flamebait will be have their posts deleted and punished, no warnings, no questions asked. I have no problem with removing anyone's privilege to post on these forums for a very long time.

End of discussion.
