Ok so recently I developed a very nice skin and Im getting all new icons for my game, but Ive already seen people start to use my skin, There must be someway to prevent the skin from being saved to there documents.
Also on another note, Ive seen teh rsc extractor program out there for ripping icons from the rsc files, but ive noticed that with some games the files are protected and the icons cant be ripped with it (found out from playing with program to see what it was), was wondering how to protect my icons so they cant be ripped since me and my staff are taking the time to make brand new ones would like to make it harder for people to steal i know it will never be impossible.

Skins are automatically saved to the client's computer, as the cache stores them there. The same goes for RSC files. I know of no way to protect your files from a RSC extractor, because they're stored in a plain, unencrypted format.

Is there anyway to encrpyt the files either the skin or the rsc so they cant be used

Not without making your game unplayable.
I wonder if the EXE file of the game stores these files differently... |
