I was talking with my father over MSN, (He was the one who made this computer), and I said, I'm gunna buy a good dell. He said Why aren't you gunna make a computer, my response, "Because I don't want to". He proceded to call me a pussy. So... I've been compiling a list of things I want for my computer. And by the time ive got the money to buy the computer the prices will be cheaper, and the items will probably be better then they are already listed.

- Don't buy the processor until AMD's official price cuts kick in.
- Get an SLI mother board, and a higher end one than you picked out.
- Get a SATA hard drive, not ATA.
- You don't need a network card, unless you're going wireless - most motherboards come with integrated LAN.
And buy form Newegg they have some of the stuff you wanting cheaper and there shiping is better. :)

I was looking for products that were around the pricerange I was looking for, I'm probably gunna end up using newegg.

I was bookmarking things that I wanted, so that i knew what price range. I wont be able to afford the computer for about 3 months, so by then the prices should go down, and I should be able to get a better processor.

I don't want an SLI motherboard, I will only have 1 graphics card. I will be looking for a higher end graphics card.

I was reading that the SATA drives cost quite a bit more, correct me if im wrong?

I was also under the impression, that the lan card used your computers processor to process the information, so that buying a lan card would get you more performance out of the processor.
You should buy a pentium D 805.

it looks like a budget proc, but it can be overclocked to 4.1GHz. In tests run by the people at http://www.tomshardware.com it beat the amd x2s in all of the tests.

the chip costs $101 on newegg.com

this chip even beat the fx-60 in most tests, when overclocked to 4GHz
Sangheili, When its overclocked it takes way to much energy, an i dotn feel like risking it :P
. AMD is also a much better processor. The insides of it, and the software behind it are much better designed. Intel is still running there chips off old technology, and I cant stand that. I much more perfer AMD Processors, and now I am upping the processer to an AMD Athlon 64 5000+ which AMD just cut the price in half on.
