I seen a few threads hinting at this, and one explaining a linux option-- i don't use linux although i do have a copy of red hat enterprise linux 4, but have never used it

I want to host live byond games on a website is this possible? is there a company out there that sells this service to allow me to do so? I really am sick of wasteing bandwith and leaving my computer on all day to host please help!!!
If you meant hosting a website through BYOND, that is possible using Linux, yes.
If you meant to use one of the "webspace" offers to run your BYOND game on these, no, that won't do.
You'd have to look for a server (be it shared, dedicated, virtual,...) in order to do so.

But, yes, as you mentioned, there are some services out there dedicated to hosting BYOND worlds for you.
Examples would be http://farawayhost.com/forums/ and http://dbzenhosting.com/

hostmonster.com has servers, too, and their price is pretty cheap (5.95$ a month for unlimited bandwidth and (maybe) disk space). Can't guarantee their uptime or service, though.
