Sorta... Apparently even with the sh*tty crappy score of 129, I'm in the top 5% of people and I'm eligible for the International High IQ society.

I just squeezed out a 124. I had no idea how to do one of the comparison questions about writers, nor did I know any European history so I got fucked by at least two questions. :/
I got completely fucked over by the Visual memory section. I guessed on almost every one. I don't know why I suck so bad at that, but I was completely stumped by every one. But you're still eligible for the International High IQ Society. Lol.
I LOVED the visual memory and pattern recognition parts. As far as tests go, if I were that kind of person I'd get hard-ons over that sort of thing. They're fun as hell but on this particular test I always kept one eye on the timer.

Oh yeah you're right. Some of those analogies were just like... wtf?

I'm usually good at visual memory questions on tests, but these were hard for me. The pattern guessing ones... weren't exactly fun for me, but I didn't particularly mind them.

This is a lot better than most IQ test on the internet. The only thing I strongly disagree with is the fact part. IQ shouldn't be measured by how much a person knows...It suppose to make you figure out stuff. That's what a true IQ test does, it presents you with paterns and what not that you have to figure out and is timed. IQ isn't how much Knowledge you have it's how good you are at solving problems and what not and how quickly you can do it.

I completely agree. (with you)
I skimmed through it just to see if it was a legitimate test.

I like how a society of "smart people" is using a test which uses faulty logic to determine whether someone is qualified.

A true IQ test would use the original and most useful equation, and wouldn't include things such as trivia and education-based facts. Knowing how many sides an octagon has has nothing to do with how well your brain processes information, for example. Although the original does not, I disagree with the fact that IQ tests don't use time as a factor in determining the person's IQ. I got a "genious" score on a more legitimate one a while ago, but I take significantly longer than the average person to do tests. Someone who can think of the exact same right answer in a shorter period of time obviously has a stronger brain. This was timed, but I don't think it used it in the equation.
Two reasons why I personally dislike time limits.

1) Knowing that time is ticking against me sometimes stresses me to the point where I forfeit the entire test.

2) I double, triple, quadruple check my answers a lot even if I'm pretty sure I'm right. That would tack on additional time. If I just go with the first answer and try to continue, I'm still trying to work out the previous question at the same time as my current one, with the time moving forward even more.

I hate limited time tests like that. It's one thing to have an hour, but 30-90 second things like that where I lose the question makes me start calculating how much time I have left by the second instead of focusing on the question.
I started taking this, I got through the visual part, and then it starts asking factual knowledge. This ruined it, seeing as how I don't think knowing about the olympics or the equinox determines your IQ. I've had two IQ tests in my life, the first one I scored 145. Then 150. Maybe it's wrong..... I don't know....
you got asked about the Olympics? I was told to identify a European writer and to answer who signed some Russian peace treaty.
I was asked about World War II and some presidents, and I got some weird author question too I think.

I nailed the World War II one and the president one too, but I don't know crap about authors.
mleh, I still went through with this test anyway, I scored 139, I guessed on a lot of the factual stuff and analogies, that really hurt me. I mean how the fuck could say... a 10 year old taking the test guess that Muhammad Ali had Parkinsons.
A real IQ test so to say isn't timed, the person distrubting the test(in the cases I have taken it) watches how you do things and what not. And it will never ask fact questions and what not. Time is still imporant for real IQ test though the thing being that they don't have a time limit, it's how long it takes you nothing more. (Note: Of the IQ test I can remember they were both part of a psyclogical evaltion or some crap like that)
