Fundamentally, the reason we changed the website was that it was growing "too big for our britches". In other words, we are a pretty small-time operation and there's only so many things we can try to do well. The website was becoming a chore to maintain and had a lot of feature requests, so we simplified it-- and I regret that we lost some users on account of it, but I think that things are in a better state now. We have a really cool web client on the way that would have been hard to do if we had to constantly deal with website requests too.
