Is it me, or is there absolutely no difference between the sound environment settings? I've been trying to fiddle with them and I can't hear anything different regardless of what setting they're on.
Actually the environment setting results seem very unpredictable. Sometimes they'll sound different, sometimes they won't. I can set the sound environment to "generic" and it sounds one way, then to "arena" and then back to "generic" again and it sounds totally different.
Am I doing something wrong, or is something screwed up? Maybe I just have a lousy sound card?

Also, how exactly does the sound.echo variable work? I haven't seen any code examples of how to modify that variable.

I think sound environments are dependent on your sound card, back when I had my integrated card I couldn't hear any difference, but now toying with Lummox's Sound Playground using my new one, it's pretty neat!
Anyhow, Lummox JR wrote a great article on handling sounds: http://www.byond.com/members/ DreamMakers?command=view_post&post=46984 (Be warned, it gets pretty technical!) |
