If you look tom is enrolled in multiple guilds, if you look at the first DantomdelByondo page, the trip started on June 10’Th. But guilds weren't added till June 30’Th! So either someone enrolled him in the guilds, or Tom is actively on BYOND ;O

Because it is a contest.

Clearly Tom is back. Otherwise Mike H wouldn't of known were he went on those days. (Seeing as he didn't have the postcard) |
Also, if I recall correctly, it wasn't planned to be a contest initially. Mike mentioned it, then said it could be a contest as curiosity was increased.
Then again, if you were doing a contest where you are supposed to be missing, why would you run that contest yourself? "I've gone away and am missing; I'm not communicating with Byond staff, but I'm here to do a contest about it!" That wouldn't make much sense. |
Actually, I reckon Mike H can tell from Tom's postcards. So it's like
Postcard n: He's in blah. Contest begins. Postcard n+1: He's in bleh. Mike tells us where bleh is because the postcard says "Hey, I'm in bleh". New round beings for day n+2. I haven't followed it at all so I could be wrong. |
You guys love a good conspiracy theory, don't you? Occam's razor always wins over conspiracy.
The staff is able to add who ever they want I think. Yes. I control the database. I manually added Tom + the rest of the staff as appropriate to the various staff guilds (BYOND Labs, BYOND, etc). That or they have a secret communication between themselves. Tom finally checked in online shortly before Postcard #15 was posted, and well before the missing #14 arrived. Day 24 was the only question mark because postcard #15 showed Spearfish as day 26's starting point, and therefore also day 25's destination. Tom answered my question about day 24 before quickly disappearing off the net again (something about a crappy public library in some small podunk town). The timeline of events: - Postcard #13 is posted: we know destinations up to day 23. - Postcard #15 arrives: from that I deduce days 25 and 26, but not 24. - Tom checks in and provides day 24 information. - Postcard #15 is posted. - Postcard #16 arrives. - Postcard #16 is posted. - Postcard #14 finally arrives. - Postcard #14 is posted (but we already knew the destinations). |
