Nah, if someone asks for The Code to do something specific and they aren't even being descriptive about what they want, I prefer to give a junk answer. I "reply with quote" and I give some code that does exactly what they asked for, to the T, but which is as completely simple and near-useless as possible.

I think that usually teaches them another useful skill: how to formulate a proper post that properly conveys what they are looking for and helps others to help themselves. If my extremely short, junky, blunt code actually solves their problem, oh well, but usually I assume that it doesn't really solve their problem since I can't see how more than even 1 in 10 people could be helped by the type of response I gave - at least not specifically for their problem at hand, though I'd like to think I'm helping them learn how to help themselves survive on the forum.

Besides, when the type of reply I gave here actually does solve the "problem" at hand, I get a chuckle and a half out of it. People who are appeased by that are in for a huge heap of problems once they want to do anything exciting with their code.
