It appears that uninitialized memory is being treated like a legit value for the purposes of clearing, which is likely on the list assignment. Interestingly, the 4-byte identifier is clearly part of a string that was allocated at some point ("/byo"), which suggests to me that the acutal value type wasn't 4 (area) but instead had the byte value for one of the area-related types like a contents list ref, etc.

I see something that could possibly explain this, so I'm looking into it further.

Lists sometimes contained bogus references.
Would there be any chance to have a new beta release anytime soon so we can find out of this solves the stability problems?
As soon as we get a chance to get a build together, yes. I'm convinced this will solve the stability issue.
Hope that's sooner than later. Was forced to pull my server off and into a home-PC because even though I restarted the entire thing, it went to shit.
