That is why Prey can go suck it. The source engine now has portals like Prey, only in HL2 style, you get a portal gun! So, lets break down the Source engine and the Quake 4 engine:

Source
--Great graphics
--Very modable
--Dynamic game play allowing for in-game toying
--Physics so real you could shake a stick at them.
--Garry's mod
--Portals
--Can be run on a crap system, just runs like as good as the machine will take it.

Quake
--Great graphics
--Portals
--Tricky Gravity
--Overly glossy surfaces
--Causes weak computers to explode

Do you see which one is clearly better?
DX?
DX??
Some Wrestling stable. -.-

But yea, to me Prey looks like a knockoff version of Halo. And I think Halo is trash!
Oh yeah, that wrestler used to say suck it and make an x with his arms, I almost forgot about that because I haven't watch wrestling in years... a lot of years.

Prey a Halo knockoff? Far from it! I can't hardly see a way it is anywhere close to Halo. Prey is an interesting game, but I am not much for seeing humans get chopped up in a alien made meat grinder. Spirit walk is neat, but seems like a way to annoy people more than enhance the game-play.
Prey is far from a Halo knockoff. Also, does HL2 have rotating floors? Does it have an effect where you shoot a wall and you fall into that floor? Personally I believe that Prey is worth buying if your a FPS fan. Also your comparing an enhanced Doom 3 Engine to the source engine.
Meh, the gravity switching is cool, and really mess with the head, but is nowhere near as cool a portals. It would not surprise me if the Source engine could do gravity switching, but I have not seen it done beyond reversing gravity which just made everyone float up.

I played the Prey demo, and it was interesting, but I don't play FPSs just for the missions. I play for the online battles more than anything. Stories get boring and Prey is just as bad as most. You get some lame back story, then you run around with no apparent heading until you end up where you where going(Which you didn't know because they didn't bother to tell you). OK, so in Prey you are lost on an Alien ship, trying to save your girlfriend, which does mean that you knew as much as your character did.
I think the exploding computers effect is just that much of a great addition that more games could put to use. ;)
