So I've finally scored another job, which my first day was today, and it wasn't bad.
I like the simplicity of what you have to do. Basically, just make the rooms spotless and replace what's missing.
The great thing about it, is I've been cleaning my whole life, of course, so it's easy to pick up on what to do, though I did have a little trouble today learning how to make beds perfectly.
The only problem is, like fast food, you have to work very fast and it's quite exhausting. Janitors have to clean up nastier areas, but they get to sit back and relax.
Unlike fast food, though, I only had to remember a few things:
Make the room spotless from head to bottom.
Replace these: 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 2 soap, 1 caffinated coffee, 1 decaffinated coffee, 2 sugars, 2 caffinated teas, 2 decaffinated teas, 7 totaal handtowels, 2 bath towels for kings, 4 bath towels for queen twins, 4 lids, 4 brown cups, 4 clear cups, 1 tub-hanging towel with handtowel inside, 1 directory, 1 Holy Bible, and 2 extra pillows/pillow cases.
Make the beds very straight.
In fast food, I had to remember crap like the actual WEIGHT of the "Gringo Empandada Fiesta" and the measurements of the "Chorizo Poderoso del Pirata". That sucked. Big time.
In my fast food job, they also made me learn stupid crap right away. I had to recite like 20 safety phrases, and learn the names of every snot, loser, and raunch working there. Luckely my manager didn't bother to lift a finger to train me. Something she was probably fired for after I quit.
My new coworkers said the job comes with fat bonuses. Wheee.
First day, though, and I already encountered a permanent man-juice stain.

I'm so coming there, and pressing charges on the hotel for sitting a "Holy Bible" in my room.
I'll say I worship Satan, and that they're trying to kill me. >=) |
Man, where the heck did you work in fast food?
My fast food jobs sucked, but I didn't have to remember weights of various things, and whatever else you said...because now I don't remember. |
Lol im a Janitor and sound like you got it easy but i get alot of extra befits from the job(insurance not being one of them :(
). but good luck with that job. |
That's kind of sick, and seems exhausing, as you said, to remember all that crap you have to change.
Well, non the less, best of luck to you on your job!
