i know this is the wronfg place to ask but i figure its a simple kind of question to ask... is Byond coding more like C++ or what...??? and ideas?
Most people compare it to Java and Python.
I think it's most similar to Python, but it looks a bit like C#, too.

I personally find it most similar to PHP, then C++.

I dipped myself in some Javascript with Unity, I found that my small amount of DM knowledge helped me understand easier. That's just my $1.50
DM is my favourite Pascal-based COBOL.

The syntax is like Python. The general ideas are like any language. People who only know one or two languages often say "<Language X> is like <Language Y>" even for the most dissimilar languages, just because the general ideas are the same (variables, objects, etc).
Well reading the DM Guide it said that like most programming languages Byond programming is evolved form of C. it also uses C++, Java, Awk and other programming languages.
