Well, I've started working on Ants (I'm going to rename it...probably) and I could use some input codewise.
I've had other projects where I just dove into it without planning it out much and then had to totally revamp it due to unforseen difficulties and I don't want this to be one of them.
I was trying to decide how to control the ants and how to connect them to each player. At first I was going to have an owner var for each ant that was connected to the players client. Then I realized this could limit AI opponent possabilities and I might have to make some messy get arrounds.
As an alternative I'm thinking of making a colony datum that regulates the colony and it's ants then connect just the colony datum to the controlling player. Meaning, the player will just issue an order to the colony and then the colony will issue orders to the ants in its colony. This means a colony can function without a player controlling it.
Any suggestions, other ideas, or road blocks you can see that I might run into?
