I recently started working on a project I thought of not too long ago. I'm working on a game where you don't gain levels and stats from killing monsters and other players. The only stat increases will be very little, and will come from items, weapons, and armor. The catch to this is, you will very seldom be able to find these items to increase your stats.

I'm going to make many different aspects of the game as well. Some different paths to travel are: becoming a merchant, an assassin, a traveler, etc.

There will also be different means of transportation such as flying by being a race with wings, or gaining wings some how, sailing or paddling in a small boat, or the old fashion walking on foot.

I'll be running into some time in which I wont have much to do so I'll work on the many different area's of the world, such as mountains, sea, forests, skies, and maybe some other places.

The only down side to this game is I am in lack of a battle system. Every one knows the idea of walking next to someone and clicking a verb doesn't work well due to lag. A turn based system like that of final fantasy wouldn't do any good due to being un able to gain levels.

All comments, suggestions, and support is greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to get some major work done on this in the near future so I can atleast try it out and see how it works. Wish me luck.
Maybe a battle system, when you battle a large image of the other player comes up and your mouse icon changes to your weapon, and you basically have to keep hitting them in the head and the so untill you knock them out.

As for planning, always write down what you want to acheive.
