Game money? But needing A LOT, as in TONS, as in very hard to get amount?
|
The length they've played your game? The longer they play, the better house in which to stay.
Worlds:Hey, that rhymes. Use it as a housing slogan. |
Code in some sort of quest/mission that is quite difficult. You could throw in riddles to test the logic. And all different aspects of the game of the game would be required to complete it. And give them a deed or something once completed.

The longer they play, the better house in which to stay. Barely rhymes. Five syllables and eight syllables don't mix well. =) |
If you're really into supporting and improving this game, have the players provide something tangeble to improve the game.
Not only would this give players a reason to help make the game better, but it would also give them a better sence of being listened to, and other then the problems with implementing in-game, it eases a touch of the workload with you. An examplle would be perhaps donating a few icons, either new, or a better quality version of something that already exists. Or perhaps detailed (and as balanced as possible) ideas for a new monster, quest, item, or dungeon. Or even just volunterring to host the game for x hours a day. Just a thought. Elorien |

BYOND is moving to Paypal. You can set up a Paypal system if you want; Skysaw did it with MLAAS, no reason why you can't do the same! =)

Easy enough to set up a Paypal account that people can transfer into. You don't need any starting funds or a credit card or anything, you just fill out a form and make your account. Then you can use it just like the old BYONDime wallet for online transactions, and not just BYOND transactions either.

Do you have a bank account, credit card or debit card? Take it to PayPal! (does your mom watch you on the comp? sneak behind her back....=P....I mean.....*run*)
But it's really simple. I recently signed up with a bank account. Now, I can add my debit card, upgrade my account, and I get *cool echoing voice*The Paypal Visa Credit Card!*/cool echoing voice*. Anyway. Paypal is really easy to use. Just nag your mom untill you get it =P. Airjoe |

And then when one person completes it, they will just tell everyone how to do it, and they ALL get houses. Hooray!

That's why you either add an insane amount of randomness to it, make it even more insanely difficult to do, or make an action type minigame that's hard to complete.

None of those seem logical.

MLAAS uses randomness very logically for its quests.
A house quest could be as simple as asking the player to submit the quest rewards from five randomly selected quests out of a possible thirty or so subquests designed exclusively for building houses. For example, one subquest could be to obtain 50 "atrium nail" artifacts, which are only found as loot from a certain monster type in a specific dungeon, etc. etc. Another subquest could be to locate and hire a bunch of carpenters (who are located in various cities around the world, and they walk to a different location in the city once someone has visited them). One more quest could be to give a master carpenter a special hammer which is, you guessed it, found only in the hands of a big bad dude. And so on, along the same theme. |

That way people play really long to get what they want. If you do it this way, be sure to make fun ways of earning money... How about use the bump proc on clients to 'mug' them? I think too much.. mob/var/money = 5 Just tested it, it works fine. -Camaro- |

But you can't create random riddles for the player to solve. And if it's just more monster pounding / find person A, then it's not much of an accomplishment anyway.
