http://www.freewebs.com/ is nice. It limits you to 50 files, but I don't think there are any bandwidth restrictions. Also, you can link to stored media just fine. No pop-up ads or banners, though they do request that you have at least one ad for freewebs.com on a page somewhere. It's noting big, just says something like, "This website hosted by Freewebs.com. Get you own free site here." Or something like that. I like it, overall. It has a nice online text editor you can use to create pages.
