I just wanted to know what type of games that you (The people of BYOND) would like to see in the future.

Usually when someone asks this kind of question, they tend to be in a mood where they want end results fast. Good games are not made quickly. It takes time and dedication. The more work you put into a game, the more you'll get out of it. Eh... never helps to have a creative suggestion. A couple of my games I've created off another person's suggestion, and they've turned out fine. I'd like to see more real-time strategy games, hopefully breaking away from IronDogs "commander" interface. A Four Swords style game would be nice as well. Players competing while cooporating in a very interactive world. I have yet to see any truly *interactive* worlds on BYOND. By this, I mean things such as switches, levers, passages, things hidden in closets, moving platforms, and other such things. ~Polatrite~ |

I was working on a game similar to an old game for the snes, 'Goof Troop', which is pretty much a (nearly) neverending series of puzzles involving moving blocks, switches, levers, etc. Well, I was until I got distracted by the Coloring_Book thing, than the side-scroller thing, than the text_lighting engine... I'll finish something one day :) |

Sit down and think carefully, "What do I want to make?". I agree with this totally. If you try and make something someone else wants, and you yourself are not interested in the idea, then the game will probably suck. Why? No motivation. If you can't enjoy testing and playing it you'll never enjoy the coding. |
That kind of vague question has been asked dozens of times here. A lot of people tend to answer with a specific idea of what they'd like, or an equally vague answer.
However, the answer is directly in front of you. Write the game that you feel would be a masterpiece. Don't think about what everyone else wants, create something that you want. After all, it is your game, isn't it?
