For not letting (reviving perhaps?) something die, that I should have let stay dead. I Don't know, so I guess y'all can be the judge of that. As it is, I have some Concept art for you to feast upon...

And speaking of Concept art, do you feel that it adds or takes away from not only the general ambiance of creating a game, but also the overall desire?

Both images are concept art i did in MSNpaint for that gorram project that I can't ignore. The first one is still unfinished.

[Edit] -- Note to self, spellcheck

Well, since most finished (comercial) games usually have some concept art lying around, I can only assume that its beneficial...

Well, if you're getting tired of working on the art for the game, try working on something else, like the sound, code, or background story.

Actually, thats not really what I was trying to convey through my post. I am in no way "tired" of doing art for the game. I personally enjoy it, it is my own personal gift. I personally think I am crazy for refusing to let a certain project to die, and will one day (hopefully soon?) finsih it, but regardless of whether it happens or not, I will continue to spit out art, sprites, and concept art for the game.

And then again, perhaps my question wasn't overall clear. *Shrug* thats fine. A quick clarification and addition to the questions. I was asking on a personal sense a to weather YOU felt it was a contribution, or "unspoken" hinderence to your own creations, and to add to the list, DO any of you actually sit down and conceptualise visually character designs, scenery, screens, whatever...

No, I didn't spell check, so I'm sure there are spelling errors. And gramatical flaws, and words I've probably created from thin air!

If you can whip out a few sketches in a small time then go for it. I'd rather just type out the ideas and put them together when I am forced to make a final project. (Unfortunately, I've cancelled many of my projects because I didn't do just that.)

To be honest, if it's not your personal gift then it could be viewed as an annoying bit of flash that is sure to get oohs and ahs while your months of code design goes ignored and you wonder why the artist has two or three times your pay. At least that used to be the case. (I'm behind in my Game Developer reading.)

If it's not needed for team communication, drawing may also take too long for some of us to consider concept sketches. Granted, I was drawing with a mouse and an alpha vector art tool that loved to lock up, but it took me many hours a day for many days just to do this. I probably could have been fixing bugs in the prototype by that point. (That particular picture was not for a game though.)
Well, those look good, but I would like to note that, unless MSN got a paint program on their site, it is MSPaint. MSN is a network of services(Thus the N) originally created by Microsoft, but sense has grown apart. Although still owned by Microsoft, the two companys are seperate. In short, MSPaint, or just Paint, not MSNPaint.

Seriously, dude, you have to stop drawing your dreams. They're scaring the heck out of me.

Sorry to continue the tangent, but your one line post took up roughly 10 times the reading space (not including the header) when the picture was added. Imagine if everyone did that. Avatars on the side of forums are one thing, but signature junk wastes too much of the reading area. Either one makes the viewer download more.

I like the picture itself though. The ones in the other post are nice too. =)

PS: *shrug* My strange picture was for a space pirates contest that recently ended. I made my entry and description to be a cartoon with its toys being sold at a fast food place.
